Book Description

About the Book
In his book, Lest we the Sikhe Astray, GAJINDAR SINGH drew the attention of the community to the conflicting perceptions and practices, under the influence of superstitions and" traditions of the ancient religions and the impact of their Agma and Nigma theories, which have had a lasting influence on the social and ritualistic traditions of India. These trends were sought to be corrected as per the revelations of Sikhism. The intent and purpose of that book was well received and appreciated by the scholarly and the lay readers.

The present volume, The Witches' Cauldron, is a corollary to the same thesis, an endeavour to delineate the truth as visioned by Guru Nanak and the illustrions succeeding Gurus and as revealed to the Sikhs by their distinct creative objectivity, disregardful of the points of view of the tradition of the old schools of religion and philosophy.

GAJINDAR SINGH started on his literary career in his teens. He wrote in Urdu, and his short stories fourul popularity with literary journals of India and Pakistan. His two books, collection of short stories and a Novel also in Urdu, were published in 1960 and 1965. Now in his seventies, he wishes to serve his people by sharing the great heritage of the path initiated by the Great Guru Nanak Dev and nurtured by his eminent and worthy successors, in order to present a correct perspective, devoid of sentimental ambiguity and based on impartial catholicity.
