Book Description

About The Book

This book is an invitation to another kind of philosophy - not abstract, dry and indifferent to life, but compassionate, holistic, caring and guiding life. Basically, it is a book about a philosophy which may change your life, if you take it seriously.

We don't have to follow the dictates of the stupifying technological system. We are free people. The human race is not forlorn and doomed. We can make the world a fair place to live, for all of us. But we need to think deeper, with consequence, and while inspired by our ultimate destinies. We need to transcend the plethora of plastic gadgets, insatiable greed, and the paranoia of fear that paralyze us. We can do it. We are proposing a New Logos for a New Civilisation. The dawn of a New Civilisation is on the horizon. But we have to help it to arise.

This work will be of value to scholars, philosophers and all searching people who believe that a better, saner and more coherent world is possible.

Introduction

This book represents a journey of one human mind, one Western mind, which was brought to the world at the time when Western civilisation was at the peak of its achievement. This mind was thus inculcated with the idea that Western civilisation was the greatest, most rational and most powerful of all. These assumptions were further rubbed in, although in a subtle way, by great universities that finally molded this mind: Warsaw Technical University, Warsaw University (with its famous School of Logic) and finally Oxford University, which bestowed on this mind one of its most precious trophies- -D.Phil. in Philosophy.

Well, in this book I want to describe my liberation from this precious yet poisonous cargo, which was thrust upon me. Yes, I received M.Sc. from Warsaw Technical University; yes, I received M.A. in Logic from Warsaw University; yes, I received Ph.D. (D.Phil.) from Oxford University. And very soon after I was offered an academic position at one of the universities in California. So all was well. Except that not all was well. Some inner forces were working within me, slowly but relentlessly, making me increasingly aware that this whole technological miracle of the world, which was surrounding me (as I continued to teach in California) was a sham and a fake
