Preface

Vol-I

An ashram is a Gurusannidhi. For worshipping God or any deity, one may go to a temple. But, one comes to an ashram to live and grow in the close association of a Mahatma. A Mahatma does not need anything for himself. If at all, he 'impatiently' wants to share his 'treasure' with as many as would be able to receive it.

So, all practices and activities in an ashram are pivoted on interactions with the Mahatma - listening to his words of wisdom and experience, serving him and his mission in all possible ways, expressing devotion and gratitude towards him through spontaneous sublime acts and observances. In the ever-unfolding life of a seeker, the temple-practices lose importance as soon as he takes refuge under a Mahatma or Sadguru.

With the spiritual growth of devotees and disciples, the daily routine in Narayanashrama Tapovanam also underwent a natural change. The morning puspa-samarpanam (flower-offering) at the feet of Poojya Swamiji, accompanied by soul-full chorus chanting of profound slokas on Guru-tattva, was introduced by Ma Gurupriya in December 1995. The purifying and inspiring spell of the sublime function in the serene morning hours touched all the participants. We however felt that the programme remained incomplete without a few words of wisdom from Poojya Swamiji. The problem was to find some time from the prevailing routine.

Vol-II

Soon after "Prabhata-rasmih - Volume 1" was published, it became a daily companion and guide for many devotees and seekers. It is now being read and discussed regularly in the weekly Satsangs held by Poojya Swamiji's devotees in India and abroad. Now that a number of Prabhata-rasmih talks are available also on CDs, the weekly Satsangs have an additional element of listening to the talks and getting soaked in the sublimity of the voice and atmosphere.

Volume-I contained 36 articles. We are happy to present 34 more articles in this volume, which are edited version of the morning messages delivered by Poojya Swamiji in the Ashram. These articles are particularly valuable in guiding the sincere seekers on how to make spirituality a wholesome pursuit every moment, how to transform each and every activity into a spiritual sadhana.

Poojya Swamiji often asks seekers to read one article or just one page from "Prabhata-rasmih" everyday and ruminate over the message throughout the day. If our longing for purity and expansion is sincere, then that itself will constitute a wholesome saadhana: We shall be happy if this second collection of the morning talks helps to purify and beautify many a seeking heart.

Vol-III

Now "Prabhata-rasmih Volume 3" comes with forty more selected early morning messages from Poojya Swamiji to the residing and visiting seekers in the Ashram. Just a glance at the contents will give an idea of the wide range of topics covered in this volume.

Although the spiritual Truth is one and uniform, the sadhana to remain anchored in this "One" while interacting with the variegated world involves a clear understanding of the infinitely complex thoughts and emotions of our mind. No wonder that the doubts and delusions evinced by the seekers on the path also reveal this infinite variety.

Gurusannidhi (association with the Teacher) helps the seeker understand his own mind and outgrow the hindering tendencies. Each article is a direct message from Poojya Swamiji guiding the seekers from their confused understanding of life as well as the spiritual pursuit to a clear horizon of knowledge and divinity.

The volume deals with various aspects of Vedantic sadhana as applied to interactional life of a seeker. Many of the messages deal with common doubts and delusions while others elucidate a number of subtle concepts encountered by serious seekers.

We hope this kaleidoscopic collection will bring in clarity to a wide variety of readers and practitioners.
