Prabuddha Dasgupta- A Journey (Pictorial Book)

Preface As the Director of the National Gallery of Modern Art, it gives me great pleasure to host the exhibition of Prabuddha Dasgupta (1956-2012) entitled "Prabuddha Vasugupta: A Journey" at the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi. It is the first comprehensive exhibition of his photographic works since his untimely demise.

His photographs act as a voice capable of luring our senses, instigating the viewer to put his mind, his eye and his heart on the same wavelength. What reinforces these thoughts is the sense of a strong composition and rhythm that is explicit in the images. There is a sense of lingering familiarity that transcends the atmosphere created by the image. The photographs facilitate a distinct connect between the viewer and the photographer.

I wish to thank Prabuddha's family and friends for their concerted efforts in the realization of this exhibition. I express my gratitude to the Ministry of Culture, Government of India for all the necessary support. I also acknowledge the sincere efforts of the entire NGMA team towards the successful execution of this project.
