Book Description

Foreword

Among many universal and conditional dashas of parashara based on the occupationof Moon in a particular nakshatra, Chakra Dasha is an exception as it is calculated according to the time of birth, which can be around sunrise or sunrise or at other times of a day. It otherwise is a universally applicable dasha for all human beings.

In Parashara text it has not been illustrated. It was an intuitive discovery of shri Manoj pathak, the guide of this book, that led to its method of calculation based on the degrees of the lagna and successful application to so many horoscopes replicated by his students, some of them very bright, that was received with lot of enthusiasm by student of the Bharatiya vidya Bhawan and demonstrated in a workshop.

Well planned and well structured, this book should be an invaluable addition to an astrologer’s repertoire of dashas and for closer timing of events.

It is the duty of intelligent readers of this book to carry it forward and suggest if any additions should be made to this book in subsequent additions.

We are very happy to place it before astrologers and astrology loving readers.

Preface
Call it Romance of conditional dashas, if you like. It all started during a visit to Vrindavan, long time back. Sitting on the back seat of the car, I was asked by Guruji to go through the manuscript of a book. I started doing it in the car itself making my briefcase as a make shift writing table. BPHS was lying on the briefcase. Rao Sir, took the book and asked me, what I was reading from that book. I told him that role of dashas in a person's life catches me like fire. He then asked few things about my horoscope. I answered all his questions in the affirmative. Then he asked me to open the dasha chapter and read the description of Dwisaptati sama dasha. It applied on my chart and his chart as well. Briefly he explained the dasha to me.

That was the beginning of this endless romance. This culminated in the book "Predicting through Dwisaptati Sama Dasha." The book was in the making when we visited Russia and he asked me to teach the dasha to the Russian students. Taking examples from the class itself, I explained the dasha to the Russina students. I used the dasha to predict time of marriage for many of these girls, (including Inessa, Julia Muzichenko, Julia cipe, Nadya, some names that come to mind right now). On many occasions, Rao sir, during convocations make this comment, that because of DSS, and predictions given by me, these girls stopped coming to Moscow, as all of them got married.

This beginning brought us to Chatursheeti Sama Dasha. An excellent book on Chatursheeti Sama dasha was produced by my co-faculty and dear friend, Naval Singh. This was perhaps just the beginning.

Sitting in the class and later while teaching, many times, things had to be explained by using a circumlocution logic. This was agonising as this led to loss of confidence in students as well as putting a question mark on the knowledge. The moment, I started using DSS and then CSS, the level of confidence shot up immensely and clarity started emerging.

This made me dabble with other dashas like Shodashottari, Shatabdika, Chakra dasha, Kaal dasha etc., on which we made presentations whenever we got time. Chakra Oasha The present dasha, which we took up, was a challenge of many sorts. This also confirmed the repeated statement of Shri K.N.Rao that all that is written in the books, especially the Brihat Parashar Hora Shastra may not be correct as we found out in this case where all the published books were giving different views. This was indeed an area which warranted extensive application of mind. Finally, we did succeed in finding a solution which is in deviance with the method given in the BPHS but which is being applied successfully by the students for their predictive use now for more than five years, starting from 2010.

There were many challenges. The first and foremost was division of the day. If we follow the provisions of BPHS, then the total duration of Sandhya Birth time would be four hours, whereas the duration of day and night would have been eight plus eight sixteen hours, totalling upto 20 hours. How to accommodate the remaining four hours? Then, how to calculate the antardasha? This being a dasha of houses, should the emphasis be given to Houses or to Moon or to Bhava as per Bhava Chalit? Through experimentation, we arrived at the conclusion which is being presented in this book, though theoretical arguments could be in favour of many other methods.

Challenges are to be met and I am happy that I could meet them with the active support and participation of my research group comprising of the Research Batch of 2010, 2011and 2012. Without their help and support, this work would not be complete and my sincere thanks and gratitude to all of them for understanding, bearing and supporting me.

We present this work to you for critical appraisal.

After having clinically tested it for a very long period of time, we are now attempting to present it before the readers of astrology. No principle/method/ procedure, unless tested out on hundreds of charts should be given out is the guiding principle of Rao Sir and we have followed it here, therefore, the delay in the presentation of this book. Still there may be areas which may need further probing.
