Book Description
Fanny Chawla, joined as Assistant Professor in July 2012, in the P. G. department of History, DAV College, Abohar, Punjab, where I had been situated in the capacity of the head of the Department. Her natural scholastic traits were immediately capturing the attention of the students and Faculty. Her innate taste for history reflected in her teaching. Two years back, while having a conversation with me, she shared her plan of the publication of the present book. She solicited me to read her M.Phil dissertation on the said topic. The title of the research work actually generated curiosity to know more about it. Now, when she is presenting it as a published work, I am sure it would pabulum the readers about the facts of the Ayodhya Dispute.
The present book bestowed to penetrate the intellection and deliberation on the Ramjanambhumi - Babri Masjid dispute. While clenching a new endeavor towards the historical course, Fanny identifies the Hindu -Muslim divergence that erupted in the mid of 19th century after the erection of Babri Masjid in 1526 AD. She has analyzed a large number of writings of historians, archaeologists, political ideologues, journalists and activists that promulgated the various aspects of Ayodhya Dispute.
The Ayodhya debate involves important questions related to the discipline of History. The present work seeks to analyze the divergent interpretations advanced in these writings. It has highlighted the various waves of historical discussion during the 19th and 20th century. This work fabricates the readers aware of a presumably violent dispute of 1980's to implausibly historical derivations. It silhouettes all the major historical discussions on the topic after the construction of the Babri Masjid and before the construction of the Rama temple. This book is comprehensively articulated, premeditated and extremely immersing for the reader.
