Book Description
IN THE FIRST EDITION
(WITH LATER ADDITIONS IN THE END)
Greetings to all.
It is impossible to write in entirety the mysterious deeds and glories of Sri Raghavendra, for, they are limitless and cannot be constricted within a small publication like this.
Sri Raghavendra's greatness and the infinite mercies he is extending beyond the confines of time were the thoughts hovering around my mind for quite some period, leading me at last to come to a conclusion.
Accordingly, the glory of Mantralaya, the important puj as and certain special aspects, as also the procedures for performing Sankalpa Seva have been penned first in this short work, while Sri Raghavendra's birth, boyhood, his marriage and his taking to sanyasa ashrama follow next, in a brief and simple presentation.
Later, Sri Raghavendra's life story and his yatras have been chronicled, while the mysterious deeds performed by him from the time he was under the tutelage of Sri Sudheendra Theertha (including the one that had astonished the preceptor himself) to his choosing Mantralaya and getting it for his Brindavana pravesh, as also those that he has been causing to occur after his entry in the Brindavana have been dovetailed with all other bizarre happenings attributable to his supernatural powers, the connected narratives being proffered in a lucid style under appropriate title heads.
Since any study would be fruitful, only if read with the knowledge of what it purports to convey, the meaning of 'Sri Raghavendra’s Stothra has been furnished in an intelligible manner in this writing, thanks to the assistance of Sri Balakrishna Das, disciple of Sri Sri Krishnapremi Swami. Besides, the crowning glory of this publication is the benedictory message of Sri Sri Krishnapremi Swami, which serves as the curtain-raiser for this work.
That this book would serve as a travel guide to Mantralaya and facilitate acquisition of knowledge about the greatness and glory of Sri Raghavendra, as also regarding the procedures for worshipping him, is something that may not give room for even an iota of doubt.
Following this effort, I have done arduous research on Sri Raghavendraswami for many years and brought out some publications running to about 500 pages each. Yet, it is this work that could be considered as the stepping stone for those.
The serialized publication 'Sri Raghavendra Mahimai' (English version 'Sri Raghavendra, the Saint of Mantralaya') has already appeared in eight parts, the English rendering closely following the release of the original work. A Telugu version of Part I have also made - its presence felt and with my research efforts continuing, more and more volumes could be expected to come out, ere long.
Whatever I have published -with strenuous efforts put in for collecting information - I find a few writers using those material and bringing out their publications with great ease, with only a few changes incorporated here and there. They also add flavour to their work with some sprinkling of incorrect information. Such plagiarism and dissemination of wrong message are sinful and it is my fervent prayer that the persons indulging in such unrighteous conduct should turn over a new leaf and refrain from such practices in future.
I pray that the grace of Goddess Mangadu Amman, Mantralaya Mahan and Kanchi Pramacharya should extend to everyone, for prosperity and happiness in life.
