Preface
Nature has created innumerable trees, shrubs, climbers and herbs. Siddhars were not only pioneers in using metals and minerals as medicine, but also pioneers in using drugs of vegetable origin. They lived away from the common folk in isolated places (Hermitage) on high altitude mountains, surrounded by plants. Therefore they must have been well acquainted with plants than any other elements on earth. This can be well supported by the monumental collection of Malai Vagadam.
