I feel delighted to introduce to the public in general and to the young generation in particular this collection of pithy statements entitled Rtaja, which embodies in itself the treasure of our Ancient Indian wisdom. The editor of this book, Dr. R.K. Pandey is devoted to the study and research in the field of Ancient Indian Lore because of his academic excellence and expertise in various fields it is well nigh clear that Dr. Pandey has taken meticulous care in culling the Subhasitas from cordinal texts namely the Holy Veda, the Ramayana, Mahabharata and Cankya Nitisastra to name a few. His avowed aim is to put before younger generation a series of condensed thought which will instil in them the Art of living and will teach them the Science of Being. I am quite confident that each gem of thought will be read by the young generation with profit and pleasure for the fulfilment of the aims and objectives of life.
