Foreword
Osteoarthritis of knee is the price we humans have to pay for standing on our own legs!

Arthritis is a disease of bone and joint but aggravated by erroneous lifestyle and abuse of joints.

Shri T. K. Jagannathan is my yoga guru and I do not hesitate to call him a "yogic scientist". In my 17 years of medical practice, arthritis is one of the most difficult conditions to manage as it is multi-dimensional and highly dependent on patient compliance.

It is my privilege and honor to write foreword to such an informative, practically executable and truly fusion (yoga-pranayama) therapy book.

First half of the book provides a brief background about arthritis, types, causes, symptoms and different treatment options. Importance of diet, body weight, home remedies and nutritional supplements are highlighted very well. "Warning signs" in chapter 2 reflects the vast experience and in-depth knowledge of the author. Role of prevention is highlighted well.

Last two chapters provide step by step details of the asanas coupled with pranayama for maximal benefit.

Even though the treatment options for arthritis are limited, yoga with pranayama provides a great benefit in a highly cost effective manner. My mother 70 years old was suffering from knee pain, backache and disturbed sleep. Recently she started yoga and pranayama and within 2 weeks she was able to feel the difference. With 2 months of practice she could climb stairs without much discomfort and most important for her was to have an undisturbed sleep which has made a huge difference in her as well as our life.

I hope this book reaches all those people in need, enable them to experience the benefits of this fusion therapy and enjoy this beautiful life!

I sincerely congratulate Shri Jagannathan for presenting this book and SAKSHI for publishing this book.
