Book Description

Introduction
Gita a Spiritual View of Management

Although vyasa has listed all the methods of realisation, his main aim was to stress karma yoga. Previously only actions done performed for religious or spiritual purposes were considered for karma yoga. As a rule action was considered to be anti spiritual as actions increases vasanas. This in turn creates more and more rebirths. It was vyasa who evolved a method of action without desires for fruits of action. "work is worship" was recommended for those who are attached to action. He had it in his genes from the mother's side, to understand that a vast majority cannot be without action.

When knowledge comes delusion goes. This is the same as the darkness vanishing when the sun rises in the morning. That is why the spiritual master is known as guru. Gu means darkness or ignorence. Ru means remover. Hence guru means remover of ignorence. Both ignorence and darkness are negative qualities. There is no separate existence for them. The absence of knowledge and light produces them.

Arjuna was confused and agitated. He could not think clearly, leave alone winning the war in the mind. Therefore krishna the friend, philosopher and guide to arjuna seeks to set right things by guiding him in the logical sequencial thougt process. Imagine the scene in kurukshetra----two large armies facing each other in a do or die sivation. The commander of one army has a last minute doubt as how to fight his cousins, teacher and grand father. The main problem is he feels it is far better to live in poverty than fight; for he feels win or loose he will incur only sin.
