About the Author
Professor Kamal K. Jain, Editor of this volume is a well know professional in the field of conservation of Cultural heritage. Presently he is serving as Dean (Academic Affairs) and Head of the Department of Conservation at National Museum Institute (NMI), New Delhi, a University under Ministry of Culture Government of India. Prior to joining NMI, Prof. Jain served as Junior Scientific Officer, Senior Scientific Officer and finally as Project Officer at National Research Laboratory for Conservation of Cultural Property (NRLC). Lucknow, a premier institution devoted to Conservation of Cultural Heritage. During his long and eventful career Prof. Jain has travelled and taught extensively on various topics ranging from Conservation of Stone, Ceramics and Glass to Preventive Conservation involving Reorganization. of museum storage as well as Disaster Management. Prof. Jain has authored two highly acclaimed books and more than 60 articles and research papers. He is member of various professional bodies in India and abroad and has been a UNESCO Consultant on Conservation of Ceramics in South-east Asia.
