An extensive review of earlier studies is done to bring out the various aspects of the problems and prospects of Cultural Tourism. Both primary and secondary data were used for the study. Primary data were collected from the samples of tourists and local Host Community using structured questionnaire. Fourteen tourist places were selected covering all the 7 categories of cultural tourists according to a prescribed typology. Both the tourists and Host Community were selected by applying non-probability sampling technique. A total of 700 tourists and 900 local Host Community constitute the sample size of the study. A number of valid hypotheses were formulated and tested at appropriate places. Statistical tools such as ANOVA, Z test, mean, Standard deviation, Regression Coefficient, Multiple Comparison, Structural Equation Modelling etc. were used for the analysis of data.
