Book Description
The Adi Sankara Advaita Research Centre has abundant pleasure in presenting to the world of scholars this monograph entitled DIVINE DESIGN IN THE SRIMAD-RAMAYANA by the Late Professor T.P. Ramachandran.
Prof. Ramachandran retired in 1987 from the University of Madras as Professor in the Centre for Advanced Study in Philosophy. His publications include The Concept of Vyavaharika in Advaita Vedanta, The Indian Philosophy of Beauty (in two parts). The Aesthetic Value in Indian Philosophy, Advaita Vedanta, M. Hiriyanna, and The Methodology of Research in Philosophy. He had contributed several research papers to Philosophical Journals and Volumes. And each paper constitutes a monograph on the topic it covers.
Discriminating selection of the material, scholarly research, lucid exposition and critical acumen characterize all his writings. He strictly followed the dictum of Mallinatha the noteworthy commentator on the works of Kalidasa, that one should not state anything that is not based on authority, nor should one engage oneself in furnishing more details than required. All writings are marked by meticulous scholarship tended by an appropriate style.
As a person, Ramachandran was great in every respect. He was simple in living, high in thinking and austere in habits. By strict adherence to moral principles such as truthfulness, candour, sincerity, fairness and the like he had won the admiration of scholars.
The Members of the Adi Sankara Advaita
Research Centre offer their respectful Homage
To

Prof. Ramachandran
A Devotee par excellence of the Jagadgurus of the Sri Kanci Kamakoti-pitha, a broad-minded Philosopher and a Person of real Philosophical stature.
