Famous Queens : Rani Abbakka, Shantala, Chand Bibo (3 in 1 Comic)

They were queens who believed in nurturing ad protecting their people. Peace was preferred to war. But when that peace was threatened they up the sward and led their armies to victory.

Rani Abbakka of Ullal, who defied the might of Portuguese aggression.

Shantala the hoysala queen who steadfastly believed in ahimsa and chand Bibi, who successfully defended Ahmednagar against Akkbar might army.

Abbakka queen of Ullal a small principality (in what is now south Karnataka) had made a pledge to her dying mother that she would avenge her defeat and humiliation at the hands of the Portuguese. Defying her over cautious husband the king of Bangadi and the under confident nobles in her court Rani Abbakka rallied her army to challenges the might of the Portuguese and wrest freedom for Ullal and later even for Mangalore.

Shantala
Shantala was the queen of Vishnu Vardhana the ruler of the Haysola kingdom. Brought up as a Jain Shantala believed in ahimsa or non violence. Her husband on the other hand had a single minded ambition to free Hoysala from the rule of the Chalukya empire whatever be the cost. He waged wars and unleashed death and destruction on hapless people.

Though Shantala tragically could not convince her husband to give up violence she was the glorious inspiration behind the temples that Vishnu vardhadna built and which remain a losing legacy of the Hoysala kingdom to this day.

Chand Bibi
The Mughals thought that Ahmednagar would be easy to take as the heir was only a child and his regent a woman. However Akkbar mighty army was surprised when they ran into a determined band of defenders. In the battle for Ahmednagar one women stood between the Mughlas and the fort that they sought to win Chand Bibi. Such was the spirit of chand Bibi that the mighty Mughals had to sue for peace.
