Garbha Sarira

Prof. H. H. Awasthi, Professor and Head, Department of Rachana Sharir, Faculty of Ayurveda, Institute of Medical Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He has a very vast teaching and research experience in the field of Sharir. He obtained his Bachelor's degree and post graduate degree in Sharir from Lucknow University, Lucknow and Ph.D. Rachana Sharir from B.H.U., Varanasi. By his hard work and tremendous knowledge he got selected as an Associate Professor, Dept. of Rachana Sharir, Faculty of Ayurveda, Institute of Medical Science, B.H.U., Varanasi in 2004. He was the Head of the Dept. of Basic principle, from 2005 to 2006 and Head of Dept. of Rachana Sharir from December 2006 to till date. He has guided more than 10 M.D. (Ay.) Rachana Sharir research scholar and presently guiding 6 Ph.D. scholars in the department. He has presented more than 150 scientific research papers in National and International Seminars/Conferences and Workshop. Prof. Awasthi has been honoured with many awards and fellowship from various academic institutes.

Dr. Mohd. Ashraf Khan is a hard working and bright scholar of Sharir Rachana. He obtained his B.A.M.S. degree from Lucknow University, Lucknow and M.D. (Ay.) Rachana Sharir from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi in 2013. He worked as a Lecturer, Department of Rachana Sharir, Sri Sai Ayurvedic P.G. Medical College, Aligarh. For his efficient contribution in teaching and carrier building of B.A.M.S. graduates he has been honoured with Certificate of Appreciation. At present he is working as a Lecturer, Department of Rachana Sharir, Sri Krishna Ayurvedic Medical College, Varanasi. He has presented many scientific research papers in National and International Seminar/Conferences and Workshop. Many valuable research papers have been published in National and International paper reviewed journals.

Every structure in the body has the hidden surgical and clinical thrill of practical importance. It is only on the foundation of embryology and anatomy the clinical science has progressed to new hikes. The study of embryology is essential in the diagnosis and prevention of birth defects, because birth defects are a leading cause of infant mortality and major contributor to disabilities. So understanding the principle of embryology is important for health care professionals. I have read this book on Garbha Sarira. It has been written with the sole object of making the subject clearly understandable and interesting. Here in this book Garbha Sarira the critical, scientific analysis and explanation of related Slokas and the Sittras which are deep rooted or hidden in scientific world and approaches given by our ancient and modern scholars in reference to Garbha garira has been collected and reviewed to provide the new dimensions to Ayurveda. Various important topics have been discussed, functions of Mahabhiita in development of Garbha, Ayurvedic approach io beget a healthy progeny. Role of psychology of a pregnant woman on growing foetus. I congratulate both the authors for having taken great pain to prepare such a nice fountain of knowledge in the form of this book on Garbha garira.
