About the Author
One of the most engaging, innovative and celebrated voices of contemporary Indian Sitanshu Yashaschandra 1941, Bhuj, Kutch,) is poet of relentless explorations many dimensions realties, inner and external, mythical and historical, psychological political, linguistic and semiotic. A Gujarati poet. critic, editor and translator, received many pan-Indian honours Sahitya Akademi Award (1987), Kabir Samman (Bharat Bhavan), Gangadhar Samman (Odisha), Kavi Kusumagraj Award (Maharashtra), Samman and Padmashri. was elected President Gujarati Sahitya Parishad 2017 and has been honoured with Ranjitram Suvarna Chandrak and Gujarat Purakar,. Equally at home in classical Sanskrit literature, medieval Gujarati and modern world literature, Sitanshu has received Fulbright (1968) Ford Fellowship (1971) and has earned Master's and Doctoral degree in Comparative from Indiana University Bloomington USA in Gujarati Sanskrit literatures from Mumbai University. worked as Professor the University Baroda, Vice chancellor Saurashtra University and Chief Editor Encyclopaedia Indian Literature Sahitya Akademi.
