In contemporary philosophy, analytical study of human action is considered to be an important aspect of philosophical inquiry in order to have a clear understanding of human conduct. Clarification of ‘human action’ is extremely important not only for ethical purpose but also relevant in every field of human life in which human being constantly act and react together. In this book an attempt has been made to assess some of the recent views of analytical thinkers on voluntary action. The author have also made an attempt to extract’ similiar type of material from Indian ‘sources mainly from Nyaya, Advaita and Mimamsa systems in order to enrich our understanding of voluntary action. Attempts have been made to reconstruct some of the ideas on voluntary action. All the six chapters are interrelated as they consider the cluster of issues pertaining to action.
