Book Description

Foreword
S. Gurbax Singh made a rare contribution to Panjabi literature. This contribution became more remarkable due to Preet Lari. Preet Nagar at that time had become a great centre for Indian writers. The partition not only bifurcated our Panjabi culture but also crippled our joint literary heritage. It was the dream of S. Gurbax Singh "Preet Lari" that Preet Nagar should become the fountain head of Indian literature. "Preet Lari" and Preet Nagar constituted an ideal world of Daar ji's dream. 'Preet Lari' performed a vital role in Panjab in the spread of a scientific outlook.

Mrs. Urmila Anand, through this present volume, has shared with readers her memories of Preet Nagar. In fact, this book is a cultural history of 'Preet Lari' and Preet Nagar. It also offers us historical material. The central focus of this book is to present authentic and interesting material about the inception of 'Preet Lari' 'Preet-Milan', Indo-Pak Division, misconceptions about Daar ji, and other details about a few great people like S. Sobha Singh, Nanak Singh and Mata ji who were associated with 'Preet Lari."

Mrs. Urmila Anand (d/o S. Gurbax Singh ji) has resurrected the cultural heritage of Panjab by presenting in an elegant language and style her memoirs about this great place.. A sensitive presentation of all important incidents related to Preet Nagar has been made in this volume.
