Book Description

About The Book

In the absence of a universal standard for the organization of the precious non-print materials of our legacy, an attempt is made here for an orderly arrangement of the present obstreperous photo prints and negatives in the art libraries of India. Not a theory-based, but an empirical, simplified and workable scheme of Classification is worked out in lucid manner for practicing Visual Resource Librarians.

Preface

Needless to say interest in non-print materials is on the increase: This handy book is, undoubtedly, an illuminating starting point. In the absence of universal standards for the organization of the precious non-print materials of our legacy, an attempt has been made here for an orderly arrangement of the present obstreperous photo prints and negatives in the Indian art libraries. Not a theory-based, but an empirical simplified and workable scheme of classification has been worked out here in lucid manner for practicing Visual Resource Librarians.
