Book Description

About the Book
"Arthaveda", the Upveda of Atharvaveda, is 'Shilpshastra- Science of Architecture; one of its texts is composed by Sage Visvakarma. And "Vishwakarma Prakash" is the treatise that is accepted as "Shilp-Shastra". Again this "Shilpshastra" is known as "Vastu Shastra" in present times. The second ancient text of Silpasastras is Mayamatam, which is more prevalent in Southern India. In ancient times, the sculptural science propounded in Vishwakarma Prakash was prevalent in North India.

This present explanation on "Vishwakarma Prakash" explains the rules of "Silpasastras" "As it is", based on the inner-testimony of the scripture. To understand the true form of scripture, one should depend on the original text of the scripture only, and not on a commentary made by the later interpreters. This feature makes this commentary distinguished from the other published interpretations and gives it a special place.

The main feature of this interpretation is that the interpreter himself is a practitioner of Vastu. In this book, he has explained the unit of measurement 'Hasta' on the basis of the words used in the "Shloka" and has applied it for the construction of house, bed, door, etc. Similarly, by resolving the functional discrepancies for the calculation of Ayaadi', its real form has been justified. Similarly, various astrology terms used in the shlokas have also been explained, so that the reader does not need to take the help of any other book to understand the interpretation.

Foreword
"Brahma" is one. But He manifests himself in two forms- one is "Para-Brahma", the other is "Shabda-Brahma". One who knows the "Shabda-Brahma", is alone able to cognize the "Para-Brahma".

Shabda-Brahma is Veda, and ancient seers have explained the various sciences of Vedas in various scriptures. One of such the most important science is the science of manifestation. Sound and Light are the two terminologies that signify the existence of everything. The light vibrates giving rise to sound space. Therefore "Artha-Brahma" is the primary material source of all visuals. Everything in this world is a play of Energy that got manifested is in the form of Light and Sound.

One such science in the science of manifestation is the science of architecture. The Vastu Shastra is the science of architecture. Vishwakarma and Mayan were the ancient sages, who had explained some of the secrets of manifestation and architecture.

Preface
In the chapter on "The Authoritativeness or otherwise of the books in his book "Rigvedaadibhashyabhoomika", Swami Dayanand Saraswati wrote "i.e. And on Arthaveda i.e. scripture of architecture, there are treaties composed by Vishvakarmaa, TvaShTau. Devajna, and Maya. Further in Sanskaarvidhi, with regard to the study of Vedas and various scriptures, during the stay at Gurukula, by a celibate, he wrote ie, after that one should study treaties of Vishwakarma", and 'Maya' on the science of architecture which is known as 'Upveda' of Atharvaveda. He should cognize the science of Aeroplane, Telegraphy, and Geology in six years." Hence this is one of the most important fields of science, in which a celibate is required to spend 6 years for its study and practice. Further as per him, fare means architecture and technology sciences.
