VJP Saldanha- Makers of Indian Literature

At the cost of mild misdemeanor one may say that VIP Saldanha made history in Konkani literature with his history backed novels on the Captivity of the Canara Christians and the Goan Inquisition. One must agree that there is much more to the life and achievements of VJP than his novels. A multi-talented, multi faceted personality of Mangalore, a litterateur musician, dramatist, poet and above all a thorough gentleman whose very presence exuded grace all the time. He was such a man, a scholar, an intellectual and a humorist who laughed off the vagaries of life. His foray into Konkani literature was not an accident. His contribution to the Konkani literature is unparallel.

An author of this monograph, Sri Edwin J F D'Souza was closely associated with VJP and he himself is a fiction writer. He is recipient of various literary awards and honours.
