Introduction

The Bhagavad-gita is a time-honored guidebook for conscious living. Its profound wisdom has guided millions for millennia. Even today, millions all over the world draw from the Gita's insights to make their life more meaningful and joyful.

Mindfulness is essential if we want to focus and do anything worthwhile. And it's required not just for doing but also for being. The more we become aware of our emotions and our situations, the more we can understand the depths of our inner world and the richness of reality at large.

The Gita is an invaluable guide for mindful living. It offers penetrating insights into the workings of the mind and powerful practices to make the mind work for us instead of against us. Not only that, it provides an inspiring worldview within which our experiences and our existence acquire sublime meaning and purpose.

Many readers of the Gita face a challenge, however. The Gita has its own metaphysics, which is significantly different from whatever metaphysics we grew up with (or grew up without). Understanding that takes time and effort; thankfully, that task is made easier by the commentaries of the many great spiritual teachers. My understanding of the Gita has been enriched by many commentaries, among which Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada's stands first.

I have been studying the Gita for over two decades. It is more than a guidebook for me; it is a personal guide. Connecting with its verses, be it by remembering them, reciting them or speaking on them, rejuvenates me. But my deepest connection with the Gita has been forged in the crucible of writing. I have been writing daily on the Gita for nearly a decade. To make these daily reflections accessible, I keep them short: about 300 words. Over the years, the readership for these reflections has grown from a few friends to tens of thousands all over the world. The reviews offer

This book offers edited versions of some of the most-read articles from those daily reflections. These reflections provide an applicational, inspirational, motivational study of the Gita. This book is meant not as a replacement for commentaries that offer a systematic explanation of the Gita, but as a complement to those commentaries. Each of these articles can serve as a tool for reorientation and re-spiritualization. Every article is stand-alone; feel free to read any article that catches your attention. To make the content of the article more understandable and recollectable, I have provided titles that are full sentences. The title can help you churn the message throughout the day and longer.
