This second edition is a revised version of the long essays by Professor Surendranath Dasgupta which was awarded the Griffith Memorial Prize in 1915 and published by the University of Calcutta in 1920. in this edition various shortcomings of the previous edition have been substantially removed and a few explanatory notes added. Extensive passages from Sanskrit texts, appearing in the footnotes will make ready reference easy. This book will provide valuable help to all serious students of Yoga philosophy.
