Dr. Kirti Singh Chauhan, M.Phil., Ph.D. has a brilliant academic career and devoted to the studies of various aspects of foreign policy for more than a decade. At present she is on the teaching faculty at Jaipur National University, Jaipur (India). Dr. Chauhan has over fifteen scientific research papers to her credit in national and international journals and edited volumes. She has participated over thirty seminars and conferences. She has several students working for field studies and dissertations on diverse multi-disciplinary areas like eco-politics, eco tourism, foreign policy issues, teaching and learning, qualitative education, reproductive health, population pressure & resources and sustainable development.

About the Author
Dr. Chauhan is a political thinker, activist, educator and campaigner and is often invited by schools, government and nongovernmental organizations to deliver lectures on important issues like sustainable development, eco-politics and foreign policy issues. She is also on the panel of All India Radio and Jaipur Doordarshan as an expert on politics and environment.

At present her main interests are globalization, sustainable development, politics and environment, tourism and environment, teaching and learning, qualitative education, foreign policy and environmental awareness at national and international level.

Bangladesh which is officially known as the Gano Prajatantri Bangladesh (People's Republic of Bangladesh) is a new sovereign state in South Asia, other states of the region being India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. Bangladesh is almost surrounded by India. It is bordered on three sides by the Indian states of West Bengal on the West and North, Meghalaya, Assam and Tripura on the North east and East, and by Myanmar toward the South-east; on the South-the country extends to the Bay of Bengal, which provides direct access to the high seas. It is the 88 state in area in the world with total land of 147,570 square kilometers (56,977 sq. miles). In population, Bangladesh occupies 9 position in the world, total population being approximately 129 million. At present, the estimated population of is more than 141 million. It is one of the world's most densely populated countries where more than 920 people live per square kilometer.

The origin of Bangladesh can be traced back to the partition of India in 1947 when Pakistan was carved out of the subcontinent in response to the demand of the All India Muslim League, a party of the Indian Muslims, founded in Dhaka in 1906 for a homeland for the Indian Muslims.
