Book Description

About the Book

The present book is a collection of articles that deal with multifarious Postmodern issues in Indian English Fiction. The papers include the various ideas of postmodern fiction writers who describe the various manifestations of postmodernism which emerged as a movement in art, architecture, literature and culture. Against the backdrop of the sense of modernism and loss of values ,postmodernism came into existence in diverse shades and variations taking into account dominant issues and challenges and illustrating them. Lack of faith, corruption and declining moral standard are some of the prominent themes in the postmodern Indian English Fiction. The anthology is an attempt to sensitize us to return to Postmodern issues in Indian English Fiction. The main aim of this volume is to enlarge the concept of Postmodernism as theory and practice either through the theoretical discourse or through the analysis of the text. I am sure the anthology, in the present format, steers Indian English Fiction to a new direction.
