Preface
Astrology students, institutes and modern-day teachers are all swaying away from the classics, the very basic classics that all should be taught after the initial knowledge of houses, signs and planets is Laghu Parashari, which contains just forty-two sutras related to result of planets in their period and sub-period, the origin of Laghu Parashari is presumed to be from Uddai Pradeep, this book comprising 42 shlokas is a very valuable resource for understanding the results of the planets in their periods.

The importance of this classic can be gauged from the fact that is a well-accepted fact, by all classics that planets give result in their periods this classic provides you, a simple understanding to evaluate the result of the planets based on just 42 shlokas of astrological text.

Madhya Parashari - the origin of Madhya Parashari is shrouded in anonymity but it contains some use the interpretation of wealth-creating, penury creating and other yogas, which prove helpful to students and astrologers to sharpen their skill set.

As the Moon reveals things hidden in darkness; this book reveals the effects, good or bad, hidden in the womb of time; hence the title Jataka Chandrika is appropriate.

It is believed that this classic was written by the immortal poet Kalidasa. Mantre Swara devoted nearly ten verses (Chapter xx: 44-52) of his Jaataka Phaladeepikaa in praise of this book. Hence it is no surprise that the public regards this as a god-send to the world of Astrology.

His book is an effort to reach out to young enthusiasts and students of astrology with little exposure to Sanskrit based classic texts of astrology. An effort has been made by the author to create the level of understanding as required to understand the basic fundamentals and principles of astrology as given in Lagnu Parasnan, Nyanya parasnan a jataka Chandrika these three texts. The forty-two sutras of Laghu Parashari deal with the analysis of planetary period results based on Vimoshtatri Dasha, the very meaning of Laghu means small, therefore it gives us a methodology of interpretation of planetary periods based on placement, relationships, and lordships of different planets.

These very forty-two sutras explain in lucid details the subject matter of judging the planetary periods in their subjective period.

The book deals with yogas, raj yogas, relationships, Maraka planets, planetary period and sub-period analysis. Madhya Parashari origin is attributed to anonymity but the book reflects on principles of astrology as similar to Laghu Parashari but with certain additions like the Dhan Yogas based on the positioning of planets in 5th and 11th houses, penury yogas, and Antardasha (sub-period) results are additional. Jataka Chandrika is ascendant specific and talks about benefic and malefic for each Lagna. In the course of 75 stanzas he has tried to lead the astrological student to the doors of future predictions and he tells him there that by diligence one would find admission into the sacred precincts of the unquestionable truths contained in Astrology.

In all the combination of all three texts in one book is a blessing for enthusiasts and seekers to learn the basic principle and fundamentals of astrology. These books are the building blocks to learn and understand astrology and unravel the secrets of astrology in other astrological texts as well.
