Book Description
Padma Charan Pattanayak (1885-1955), a dedicated creative literary genius of colonial Odisha who left behind him a considerably good mass of literary works and who had been widely read and discussed as a renowned poet, biographer, essayist, translator and writer of children's literature during his lifetime is now a forgotten name. This monograph attempts to introduce Padma Charan Pattanayak and his works to the general readers who have no direct access to the works of the writer. This book, it is hoped, will be of some interest to the readers and researchers as it contains some rare information about the poet and his achievement.
Jagannath Dash, formerly Reader in English and Principal, aged seventy years, is an academician, a poet, a story-teller and a translator. He is the author of an anthology of Odia poems entitled Anya Eka Siddharth O Anyanya Kavita and a co-translator of William Shakespeare's Macbeth (Nisanga Nayak). His translation of Othello (Birju Munda) and collection of Odia short stories entitled Samparkar Katha O Kahani are likely to come out shortly.
