Preface In the field of Dharmasastra, we find so many digests on Sin and Expiation (Prayascitta), the one of the important branches of this line and which is mentioned as 'Nimitta Dharma'. Nimitta means a cause for which Prayascitta is performed and man who does not perform the Prayascitta is called as patita and becomes liable to go to the hell.
