Book Description
Shri S. K. Sinha, I.A.S. is one of those distinguished 1.A.S. Senior Officers who inspite of their onerous official duties find time for producing academic works of high standard. He has several books and articles on Deccan History and other subjects to his credit. His History of the Medieval Deccan in two volumes has been welcomed by scholars.
Now in this brief treatise he has presented a panoramic picture of the cultures and races that flourished in the Deccan from the pre-historic times to the present day. The main object of the learned author is to strengthen the ties of National Integration and to resuscitate the forces of love and amity. In doing so he has paid tribute to Kings and Dignatories who have set an example of toleration and considered human welfare as supreme.
As usual among scholars, some may not agree with his generalisations or inferences in particular cases. But there can be no differences of opinion about the ruling idea permeating the book. Unfortunately a few mistakes have crept into the text in printing and an errata had to be added to it.
