Book Description
This book is a compilation of the articles I have written for Back to Godhead magazine to date.
The inspiration to compile this book initially came from seeing a similar collection of articles in a small book by Ravindra Svarupa prabhu. Further, various devotees have encouraged me to collect the scattered articles into one place for easy reference. I am pleased to offer this book to those friends and followers.
My areas of service and devotional projects are reflected in these pages - Padayatra, Tirtha-Yatras (pilgrimages to holy places), Srila Prabhupada’s Centennial Celebrations, and a few of the many festivals devotees like to attend. Although most of the articles are more than ten or twenty years old, they are still relevant today. Words that describe and glorify devotees and devotional service never age. They provide new inspiration again and again.
We are glad to present the second edition of Back To Home (BTG articles). The first edition was dull - lacking the punch and pizzazz of BIG magazine’s layout, design, illustrations and glossy photos. Srila Prabhupada writes, "So conjointly make the appearance of BTG very nicely. The front cover page should be a nicely painted picture." In another letter Srila Prabhupada writes, "...We should not present a shabby thing." What we lacked in the previous edition, we are trying to make up in this one. We hope that you will like it.
Authors generally do not allow their work to be published without permission, however I would like to encourage readers to freely reproduce, distribute, and translate these articles.
Thanks to the Back to Godhead staff, especially Managing Editor, Nagaraja prabhu for his assistance with my articles and for supplying all the texts on short notice. Thanks to Dinanath Dasa for the layout and design of the first edition.
I would like to dedicate this book to Srila Prabhupada, who personally started the Back to Godhead magazine. He wrote many articles for it before writing his books and once said that Back to Godhead is fhe backbone of ISKCON. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to support Back to Godhead by submitting articles. I present this publication in the hope of pleasing Srila Prabhupada, who encouraged his disciples and followers to write extensively, just as he did.
