The Carcinosin (Drug Picture)

This booklet was originally printed in the British Homoeopathic Journal in 1967 and gives a detailed insight into how the Carcinosin "picture" was arrived at especially in children. It lists a summary of indications, many case notes, a discussion between various doctors on the efficacy of Carcinosin and a detailed clinical and pathological study of Carcinosin by J Hui Bon Hoa.

Dr. Foubister has made very valuable observations and advances in exploring and exposing the great possibilities of a remarkable remedy as Carcinosin. Fully updated with results of clinical trials.

Dr. Donald Foubister was visiting physician to the Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital and a former Dean of the Faculty of Homoeopathic Education in London. He was a teacher of Dr. P. Sankaran and is credited with exploring and exposing the Carcinosin remedy.

Various preparations of Carcinosin have long been used in homoeopathic practice mainly in cases with a background of a family history of cancer not responding to ordinary constitutional prescribing. The usefulness of Carcinosin today may be attributed to the greater amount of radiation to which mankind is exposed or it may be that it can now be prescribed on accurate indications, and was in the past often missed.

All Carcinosins have a common action. It may be that the site of the tumour from which a preparation was made can be a guide to the choice, but so far there are no clear differentiating symptoms. It is to be hoped that the unusual approach to discovery of the indications for Carcinosin will not put any one off from a clinical trial.

This paper was written some time back but is fully up-to-date. Since then no new indications have emerged, but the ones given below have been further confirmed.

I have great pleasure in placing this booklet in the hands of the homoeopathic profession. Dr. D. M. Foubister is a famous homoeopathic physician of whom I have the honour to have been a student. He has made very valuable observations and advances in the homoeopathic treatment of children and some of the essence of his experience is presented herewith. Carcinosin is a remarkable remedy and to Dr. Foubister goes the credit of exploring and exposing its great possibilities.
