Glory of Gayatri (Humanity's Universal Prayer)

Modern men enjoy the many comforts and luxuries of the materialistic world. The information revolution caused by new technologies has facilitated the exchange of data and knowledge that benefited humanity. Nevertheless, a significant amount of the world' s population is suffering from mental and physical diseases. The results of the recent human genome project have shown that basically all human beings are the same. Thus, there is an open issue about the world peace and human welfare for everyone. The solution to these issues rests in understanding of the ultimate divine eternal knowledge. Such divine knowledge should stand tall under the scrutiny of modern science and technology.

The Vedas are the repositories of divine knowledge that was revealed at the dawn of civilization. The word Veda' means knowledge. ' Veda' is derived from the root ' Ved' Ved,' in its various forms signifies five meanings: to know, to acquire, to deliberate, to live, and to subsist". The Vedas are the books of all true knowledge. There is not a single scientific fact known to mankind that is not in accordance to Vedic knowledge. On a global level, the basic philosophy of the Vedas is 'transformation from individualism to collectivism without restricting individual freedom' . The Vedas teach internationalism over nationalism, ' non-violence or Ahimsa' in thought, word, and deed over violence. According to the Vedas God is Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Eternal' . The Vedic Prayers are the universal prayers for all human beings.

Contrary to animals that are governed by instincts, human beings are governed by intellect. Gayatri Mantra guides the intellect of individuals in attaining peace, progress, and prosperity in one’s life. Vedic knowledge is pure and divine.
