History : Journal of the Department of History (An Old and Rare Book)

The University of Burdwan takes great pleasure in presenting to the academic community the publication of the First Number of "History : The Journal of the Department of History", Burdwan University, which is admirably rich in its contents and is a positive event of some importance. It is always expected that apart from pursuing the usual Syllabus, the Department of Studies in History would adopt and fulfill a programme for the advancement of basic and higher researches. In this particular regard this publication is a step forward. It is gratifying to note that the contributors, the teachers of this University and some other Universities of West Bengal, are experts in their own field and their papers are marked by freshness of approach and novelty of thought. The spark of new thought traceable in these contributions really deserve commendation from the critical connoisseurs.
