Key Words in Guru Granth Sahib

Preface Dr Darshan Singh, former Professor and Chairman Guru Nanak Chair of Sikh Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh and now Professor Emeritus, Panjab University Chandigarh is a renowned scholar of Sikh studies. Though he has written several books on Sikh studies as well as Punjabi language, literature and liguistics but what created a historical mark in the Sikh studies is his translation of Guru Granth Sahib in English (published in 2006). It is remarkable that its first edition was out of print in less than an year and the second edition is likely to meet the same fate.

The present book 'Key words in Guru Granth Sahib' was, in fact, written as a part of the Guru Granth Sahib's English translation, but, its size was worth a complete book, hence this publication. Dr Darshan Singh has explained 37 key words, rather concepts in this book. Most of these concepts are theological issues but some relate to the Sikh cuture also.
