'Madan Parajaya' or The defeat of the god of lust known as KAMDEV is an unique and impressive work of Shri Jin Nagdev who flourished in the first half of fourteenth century of vikram era. Madan Parajaya is the Sanskrit version of the Prakrita work 'Mayan Parajaya Chariu' written by Shri Haridev. Shri Haridev, belonged to the family of Shri Nagdev, alias Jindev, was the son of Shri Mallarijit. Although Prakrit Mayan parajaya Chariu of Shri Hari dev was used as the base of the Sanskrit Madan Parajaya, yet there is great difference in the contents and volumes of the two.. Madan Parajaya is almost ten times as voluminous as Mayan Pirajaya Chariu. The Prakrit Mayan Parajaya Chariu was designated as a kavya (Poetic work), where as Madan Parajaya of Sanskrit has been described as an akhyan (story) by its author.
