Book Description

About the Book
"...when we talk about a work of visual Art, it is about an idiom essentially different; and usually not much familiar to a theoretical pundit. The art of Painting and Sculpture stand as the glaring examples; which involve entirely different tools and the creative language.

...to comment on it, therefore, one must adhere to a template - also with discussions on the related skills, with specific academic references. Only then, a judicious observation can be expected: and is best made...

... moreover, credibility is best achieved when discussions, especially on historic shifts and nuances in visual art, are made by a writer - with strong familiarity with the overall native roots...

...that is, in addition to theoretical analytical competence, broad factual information remains equally vital...

Foreword
To us, at Sirjana College of Fine Arts (SCOFA), above three words have had always been at the core of our minds. So regardless of the methods we choose in our teaching, we have always been convinced that we must also get engaged in developing - own, relevant educational materials, so as to strive forward.

Precisely this mission in mind, SCOFA, since its very early phase, began to create educational materials - as we thought essential - for quality art education. Accordingly over the last two decades since we appeared as an art institution, by now we're able to present an impressive array of education materials all related to Art and art-education. It all stands as the proud testimony of our commitment to enrich Nepali Art and art-education.

Preface
By a classic definition, the book in your hand may not qualify to be described a book. For, the words or the lines collectively, are not penned, consciously to be a singular book. Instead, here is a motley collection of select essays: or musings made, on various occasions and on various facets of Nepali art-discussed from diverse angles. At the best, it represents a time frame, almost a decade. The essays here, are all penned - since and after the last publication of a similar collection in 2012, titled 'Nepali Art: Issues Miscellany': and to this date.
