फ़ैज़ अहमद फ़ैज़ की शायरी - उर्दू हिन्दी रोमन लिपि व अँग्रेज़ी अनुवाद सहित (Poetry of Faiz Ahmad Faiz) (Urdu, Hindi text with transliteration and English translation)

Born in Sialkot in 1911, Faiz Ahmad Faiz was brought up in a religious and scholarly family. He did his MA in Arabic from Government College Lahore, but was very much influenced by Urdu writers and scholars like Pitras Bukhari, Maulana Abdul Majid Salik, and Pandit Hari Chand Akhter etc. In 1936, he became the Secretary of Anjuman Taraqi-pasand Musanfeen, and his first poetry collection Naqsh-e-Faryadi was published in 1941. He traveled comprehensively to different parts of the world. His other prominent collections included 'Dast-e-Saba' 'Zindan-Nama'.

The present book includes a representative collection of Faiz's poetry, and in being presented with text in Urdu, Hindi and Roman script alongwith English poetic translation by Khwaja Tariq Mahmood.

About the Translator

Khwaja Tariq Mahmood born in 1927 at Chakwal, graduated in engineering from the Punjab University in 1947. He was commissioned in January 1948 in Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Pakistan Army, and retired as brigadier in 1979. He graduated from Staff College, Quetta in 1956, and from Royal Military College of Science, Shrivenham, U.K. in 1960-61. He took his law degree in 1977 from Punjab University and Master's degree in International Relations in 1985 from University of Southern California, U.S.A.

Because of his great interest in Urdu poetry, Khwaja Tariq Mahmood has already compiled and translated the following collections:
