Book Description
Within the dynamic character of the issue and its importance, every writer had predicted the same within their own perspectives and ideologies. But the fact is that the dominant view over all is the issue of Autonomy, which was within the legal documentation of the treaty of Amritsar when for the first time it was introduced to the state in 1846. It was a time when almost the all subcontinent was totally unexposed to the concept. Infact the autonomy and the All Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (which had been much identical with the same along with its issue since the Naya Kashmir Programmed in 1944) had been witnessed side by side on the road of the Kashmir politics since the said times. The issue got more importance since the concept of Autonomy erosion was thought as mainly responsible for the unrest in the valley. Infact the recent political history had framed its picture within the perspective of 'politics of Autonomy'. Therefore only party that had monopoly hold over the Kashmir politics and most identical with the same issue is the National Conference. This is the reason that the concept of autonomy to the state of Jammu and Kashmir had sought the importance of jugular vein to the politics of National Conference, Politics of the State and aspirations of the Kashmiri people as well. It was opined that the special status which was guaranteed under the Article 370 was the fundamental base and arena on which the sate acceded with Indian dominion.
