About the Book Hinduism teaches that God (or spirit) shines in the eyes of every living thing including our own, so when we hurt anyone we are actually hurting ourselves. This is why it is very foolish to needlessly hurt other living beings.

Instead of hurting other living things, we should show respect for all living things, because it is the same God (or spirit) that lives in all of us.

About the Author A Famous Person Called Swami Vivekananda brought the message of pluralism from India to the West about a hundred years ago. He taught that all religions are different ways of becoming spiritual.

No one religion is better than another. The religion that suits our needs is the best for us. We must not fight that our religion is better than any other.
