Book Description

Introduction

Our Past holds the key to the future. Our knowledge of the era gone by is fragmentary and in some ways, still elusive. It is a mosaic of beautiful, slightly eroded, incomplete yet strong tiles of facts and myths. These mosaics of artefacts and sculpture have been deciphered in a number of ways yet the stories still resonate with us even in our present times.

THIRD EYE VISUALS’ maiden attempt, THIRD EYE VISUALS ~~~An Epic Saga of Ancient India is an Artistic endeavour the present archaeological exhibits of the ancient India. This photographic journey includes early sculptress, ancient religious terracotta pottery and hand made bronze statues of the Indus Valley civilization.

Indian artefacts are not merely objects of our past, these are the lens through which we magnify and lay bare the precious heirlooms to be treasured forever.

This experience of photographing and compiling it as a coffee table book, reflects my own journey of self discovery in the context of renewing my ties with my roots. These images are a minute strand of he exquisite colourful weave of our history, beliefs and literature, resembling a tiny island amidst a vast dry desert of present technological age.

It is my heartfelt attempt to carve an entry point to relive the stories, history and motives preserved in these sculptures. These treasured antiquities reveal secrets of the ancient societies, cultures, traditions, their innovative techniques, religious beliefs, raw materials utilized and even their existing dressing styles.

These images are my own contribution to appreciate and cherish our iconic, royal and glorious heritage. As a student of History and aiming to pursue Art History, I consider myself as no less than Sherlock Holmes while diving into its depths with my macro lens to discover the microscopic gems of hidden knowledge from our past.
