Chanakya Neeti is the English translation of Chanakya's Neetishastra. It is a result of Chanakya's in –depth study and understanding of the Indian way of life. The book is a set of tenets that spell out the ideal way for an individual to behave and deal with the society around them. The book is used as a guide to acheive success in any area of life. Chanakya Neeti is a useful guide even in the present times, showing an individual the ideal way of living in relation to their family, society and country. Chanakya also known as Vishnugupta or Kautilya was the pioneer of political sciences in ancient India, whose works are of great relevance even today.

Chanakya died in 283 BC. Details regarding the death of Chanakya are shrouded in mystery. It is known that he lived a long life but it is unclear how he actually died.
