Vasudev Narayanarao Deshpande (1939- 2014) obtained his Doctorate in Education from Karnatak University, Dharwad, Karnataka. An acclaimed scholar all through his academic career, he secured B M Srikanthaiah Gold Medal from Karnatak University. In recognition of his scholarship in Sanskrit Literature and Vedanta Philosophy, he was awarded a Gold Medal in 2012. A gifted orator, V N Deshpande regularly delivered lectures on religion and philosophy on various platforms including the Theosophical Society. He was an English teacher and retired as the headmaster. He was a visiting faculty at the BEd College run by the Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha. He was associated with the academic activities of the University College of Education, Karnatak University.
