Book Description
Every soul in creation endeavours to lose misery and find happiness. This, according to Sanatana-dharma or the ancient way of life (as it is called traditionally), is the basis of all philosophical schools of thought. The systematic and logical arguments extended in each school of thought are essentially the recommended methodologies to transcend the duality of misery and joy.
In this book, we present the Hanuman-cālisā, a collection of forty 'caupayis' or couplets singing the praise of the vanara hero, Hanuman, scribed by Gosvāmi Tulasidāsa. The Bhaktamal of Nābhādāsa hails Gosvāmī Tulasidāsa as a reincarnation of sage Valmiki, who descended for the sole purpose of singing the praise of the Lord. The hagiographical accounts of Tulasīdāsa vary with regard to the actual time of the poet's birth. It is accepted that Tulasidasa was born sometime during the sixteenth century C.E., in a small hamlet called Rajapura at Banda district (near modern-day Prayagraj in the state of Uttar Pradesh).
