Book Description

Preface
It is not strange or accidental that the Isa Upanishad and the Bhagavad Gita have between them a common theme of exposing the individual to the Infinite as gathering him up and making him see horizons without ends. Each in its own way strikes at his roots and the muddy fortifications which the individual builds around him, which not only throw him into the caves of darkness but make him a wasted energy in the scheme of life and values. Each in its own way un folds the secret that the real individual is the Infinite, and that fulfilment lies in linking himself up with all that Infinity has relations with. The metamorphosis of the individual into the cosmic and the Infinite is worked out by the development of a consciousness which instead of schematizing life into orders and systems of privileges demands a surrender of them and a re-dedication to the Ultimate Concern, which alone keeps the continuity of life beyond deaths.

These meditations' on the Isa and the Gita have the humble hope that they invoke a concordant response towards life around, whose truth will have to be discovered against the wider background than is immediately available. Nonetheless the more fortunate are never withheld from the intimations of the Infinite in the very finite and the immediate. The objective is to seek to be the fortunate.

The 'meditations' are presented separately, and in each case Perspectives are submitted, which in a way introduce the themes of the texts.
