Methodology of Educational Research is specially designed for use as a textbook by students pursuing post-graduate degrees in Education, Psychology and Sociology. The contents of the book are based on the syllabus of educational research as prescribed by Indian universities. Theory is followed by applied statistics both descriptive and inferential, with easy to follow examples and exercises. About the Author

Dr. Kanwarjit Singh obtained his Masters in Education and Psychology with a gold medal from Kurukshetra University, followed by Ph.D. in Education from Punjabi University, Patiala.

Having been associated with teaching for more than three decades, he served as a Govt. College Lecturer, and Principal, State College of Education, Patiala, before retiring as Director of Public Instruction (Colleges), Punjab, in September 2008. At present, he is working as Professor in Education at the -Rayat-Bahra College of Education, Sahauran, in SAS Nagar (Mohali), Punjab. Besides teaching and supervising Ph.D. and M.Ed. theses, he has authored three books on Psychology, Educational Psychology and College Administration. He is on the board of studies of Education of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, and Punjabi University, Patiala.

Preface

Methodology of Educational Research has been written as an introductory text for students pursuing master's level degrees in Education, Psychology and allied fields. The contents of the book are based on syllabi prescribed for this level by Indian Universities.

The book has been written in a simple language for comprehension by students who have difficulty with the English language. An attempt has been made to explain the statistical techniques through easy to understand examples, not requiring tedious calculations. Dependence on calculator has been minimized. Common conceptual difficulties experienced by students, when they work on their dissertations, have also been kept in view.
