MIZORAM

Mizoram is a State of great natural beauty. It lovely hills intertwined by mighty rivers, gentle brooks and evergreen forests with their lush and luxuriant growth present a glorious picture of the bounty of Nature. Living in this scenic environment, the Mizo people have a nature, which is usually calm and quiet, but when aroused, they could be explosive. The author has presented in highly interesting style the State's distinctive features and the customs and occupations of the simple people as well as the present day all round development of Mizoram.

The author, Dr. Animesh Ray (1936-98) studied in Presidency College, Calcutta, Calcutta University Law College and London School of Economics, London. He was chief Secretary, Government of Tripura and Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, besides holding other important positions in public sector organization. His book include Co-operative Farming in India, Mizoram -Dynamic of Change, Mizoram -Home of Highlanders and Maritime India -Ports and Shipping.
