Today the world is witnessing an unprecedented situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Citizens across the world are united in this hour for battling with a common enemy, which is invisible yet potent, and is threatening the physical and mental health of everyone. During this time, enormous efforts are being made by all sectors, be it government agencies, healthcare professionals, civil administration and the like. In order to contribute positively and effectively, National Book Trust, India, initiated a noble cause to assess the psychosocial impact of the pandemic and the Lockdown on various segments of the society. The aim was to understand how the pandemic has affected the lives of people, and using those inputs, also to provide authentic information and guidelines on 'How to Cope' with the psychosocial challenges. This book is dedicated to Women, Mothers and Parents. It provides authentic information on COVID-19, its spread, precautions, associated myths and facts in the first section. The subsequent sections provide insights drawn from the survey conducted by the researchers to understand the impact of the pandemic on this subset of population followed by the methods of dealing with the challenges. The guidelines are simple steps that have theoretical, psychological as well as practical rationale. The peculiar restrictions and issues being faced during the Lockdown period, quarantine and isolation have also been discussed. This book is written in an easy and comprehensible language, with colourful illustrations to enhance certain important aspects. We are sure that this endeavour will provide the much needed knowledge and assistance to the readers in coping with the pandemic.
