He was Ex-Director, Deccan College Post Graduate and Research Institute, Ex- Professor and Head of the Department of Linguistics, University of Poona and Ex- General Editor of the Encyclopaedic Dictionary of Sanskrit and at present Editor, Prakrit Dictionary.
