Preface

"There is no dearth of books on yoga in the market. But there are only a few which really fulfil the purpose." Generally, yoga is being taken as a set of physical exercises needed to eradicate a number of diseases and keep one physically fit. Where as yoga is a treasure of knowledge about the human body, mental make up, physic and the soul. In fact it aims at achieving a healthy union between an individual soul and Universal Super Soul. It is like an ocean where most of the unseen world lies at the bottom which is unseenable as well as unreachable and the Science of Yoga which is a unique approach to lead an ideal human life gives its best to reveal and bring to surface the hidden secrets which the modern Science has failed to grasp and deal with. It is for this reason we say that the philosophy of yoga starts from the point where the knowledge of Science ends. So writing a book on yoga is not so an easy job. A realized 'yogi' has a vivid picture of the human life and the hidden godhood in him, the inner of inner-self the abode of 'Divine Energy'. As a result of his long experience and a whole life practice of complete yoga also termed as 'Ashtanga Yoga' he has in his mind a vivid picture of the three subtle 'nadis' viz. ida, pingla and sushumna and the seven plexus the power centres stationed on them in a very mysterious manner. The activation of these power centres, producing sympathetic vibrations, making them harmonically vibrant to suit a rising of the divine energy from the lowest focal point to the top most roof of the human body is not an easy job. To transfer and communicate all these vivid pictures from the mind and implant them to the highest degree in the mind of the readers is a gigantic task that requires a lot of skill, labour and a command over the vocabulary for embedding appropriate words, the best suited, to get in to fulfil the need for an ideal transportation of images from one mind to the other. An ideal narration is just like the placid flow of water in a stream with a musical humming note soothing and impressing the mind of the reader quietly pouring in the sacred knowledge like the divine nectar to arouse in him a blissful experience.
